Welcome

On behalf of the South Australian Fly Fishers’ Association (SAFFA) we welcome your interest in our Association.

SAFFA is dedicated to the promotion of fly fishing and the many qualities that it up holds, both on and off the stream, river or lake. Since 1948 SAFFA have actively fostered the art of fly fishing, and accepted the position of unofficial custodians of many of South Australia's streams, winning Land Care awards, monitoring water quality and reporting incidences of pollution. The function of SAFFA goes beyond that of a recreational fishing club, it is a committed and motivated body of like-minded enthusiasts who respect and value their environment and fishery.

Working under permit from the South Australian Government, SAFFA's trout hatchery is an integral part of South Australia's ability to offer a truly national and international pursuit at a local level. New members can look forward to participating in all aspects of a trout fishery, from stocking days, to working in the hatchery, to learning about stream improvement and fishery management. The club has an eclectic mix of members that are passionate about fly fishing and the future of this valued recreational resource for South Australia.
